World Pension Forum

For the past three decades, the World Pension Forum has distinguished itself as the consciousness of global capital. Often the first investment delegation on the ground, the World Pension Forum has sought to reward the pillars of humanity by honouring 8 Nobel Peace Prize winners including Nelson Mandela, Kim Dae-jung, Shimon Peres, Mikhail Gorbachev, Eliezer “Elie” Wiesel, Desmond Tutu, Yitzhak Rabin and Lech Walesa, by leading dozens of pension, endowment and asset management delegations to their countries and encouraging many of the largest funds in the world to invest into their visions of a free, just and humane world.

About The Founder

Philip Schaefer, President World Pension Forum

Schaefer has created a forum in which participants meet with leading businesses, financial and political leaders around the world to help pension fund managers make the most knowledgeable investment decisions possible.

A former partner at Bear Sterns for 17 years, Schaefer has had an illustrious career in private enterprise as well as public service. He was appointed to the US Council on the Humanities and confirmed by the United States Senate. He was also appointed by President Carter to the US Circuit Judge nominating commission and appointed to the Small Business Administration. After graduating from Antioch College in 1964, Schaefer became a member of the first Peace Corps group sent to Kenya. Schaefer organized the first post-apartheid US investment conference in South Africa with President Mandela and Bishop Desmond Tutu. That conference was followed up by conferences around the world that included hosting 8 Nobel Peace Prize winners.
